Calcium Carbonate Deposits in Pyramid Lake, Nevada
Earth Observatory has a satellite image that clearly shows the calcium carbonate deposits in Pyramid Lake, located near the Nevada-California border. The calcium carbonate is in the form of tufa, a type of limestone formed by the precipitation of calcium carbonate from supersaturated water.
